20+ experts
500+ statements
100+ statements with broad support

McKinsey wanted a quick, well-founded picture of what improves depression treatment, based on the insights of leading experts. Those experts were scattered around the world and had packed schedules.

The approach

In an online session, the experts responded to statements about treatment pathways and improvements in care, and voted on each other's input. Geographic distance played no role; the platform showed by itself where the experts agreed.

The outcome

The session produced more than 500 substantive statements, of which more than 100 gained broad support. The insights were available immediately and were later published in a research paper.

The insight McKinsey & Company

In one session with twenty experts, more than 100 of over 500 statements gained broad support.

“Compliments on the careful preparation and the pace this interactive format achieved.”
