After the 2014 policy review, senior leadership wanted to know how employees viewed the organisation's culture and its European direction, from the central departments in Berlin to embassies around the world. Those voices are worlds apart.

The approach

Four 75-minute online conversations produced almost 3,250 ideas. A multi-step analysis looked at the content, at expectations about the culture, and at recurring language patterns.

The outcome

A clear picture emerged of the desired internal culture, the priorities, and how to bridge the distance between locations. Colleagues around the world were able to take part in the process within a short time.
